Rural Health West is the leading workforce agency for health professionals looking to work in rural and remote Western Australia. We have been in existence for 25 years and have an in-depth understanding of rural practice.
Rural Health West is a not-for-profit agency that receives funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and the Western Australian Department of Health through WA Country Health Service. The organisation is administered by a Board made up of elected and appointed Directors who are responsible to the company’s membership base- predominately made up of rurally practising health practitioners and organisations.
We provide a range of services that include:
- Recruitment- general practitioners, locum general practitioners, nurses, midwives, dentists and allied health professionals
- Continuing Professional Development- education workshops and conferences provided in rural and metropolitan locations; online learning with Rural Doctors’ Webcasts and assistance with securing supervised clinical attachments.
- Engagement with future workforce- we work closely with student rural health clubs and junior doctor organisations, and provide several vocational experiences to enable medical students and junior doctors to experience rural practice
- Workforce Support- we have a dedicated practice and business support service to work closely with rural general practices, and administer several programs to assist rural doctors in gaining fellowship.
Rural Health West strives to provide a comprehensive service that meets the needs of all health professionals interested in working in rural Western Australia. To learn more about the range of services we provide, visit our website. (to be linked to www.ruralhealthwest.com.au)
