Your pathway to a career in general practice is an important journey, well supported by Western Australian General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET) Limited. We provide access to high-quality, safe and relevant education and training to support you to develop the necessary skills to practise competently and confidently in your community.
We are the sole regional training organisation (RTO) in Western Australia, engaged by the national training coordinator, the Department of Health, to deliver the AGPT program.
WAGPET offers access to training in a diverse range of settings across metropolitan, rural and remote areas of WA. Training is available in Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) Remoteness Areas (RA) 1–5, with over 300 accredited training sites, spanning Kununurra to Esperance. Central to the success of our programs is the support of medical educators, supervisors and training posts who offer community placement opportunities, education sessions, in-practice teaching and mentoring.
