Rural Clinical School (RCS)
The Rural Clinical School is an Australian Government workforce initiative designed to attract more doctors to rural practice. Participating medical students spend their second to last year in one of 14 rural towns, offering educational opportunities as well as the possibility of a real understanding of and enthusiasm for community and rural life. Established in University of WA the Rural Clinical School incorporates students from University of Notre Dame.

Rural Health West’s Student Vocational Experience program
The Rural Health West’s Student Vocational Experience program offers WA medical students the opportunity to observe clinical health practice with registered health practitioners in rural WA. The program provides placements in rural settings for up to two weeks, where students undertake clinical observation and visit local health services to increase exposure, knowledge and understanding of rural communities and rural health.
John Murtagh First Wave Scholarship Program
The John Murtagh First Wave Scholarship Program offers an opportunity for medical students to experience general practice under the guidance of a dedicated general practice supervisor. A national program run by General Practice Registrar Association (GPRA), it offers two different experiences; Clinical General Practice scholarship or Aboriginal Medical Service scholarship.

General Practice Students Network (GPSN)
The General Practice Students Network (GPSN) is a national student-run program using a peer-to-peer marketing model that seeks to foster interest in general practice and promote it as a specialty of choice.

Perth based student rural health club promoting careers in rural health and broadening students’ understanding of rural health issues and medical practice.

ACRRM’s Bonded Support Program
ACRRM manages an Australian Government Department of Health initiative to provide conference, networking and other support services to students and doctors on the Medical Rural Bonded Scholarship and Bonded Medical Placements programs.
